As the race for election into various positions in the NWC of the PDP thickens and the various contenders getting geared up for the December 9th National Convention, it’s noteworthy that the leadership of the PDP stands by their earlier decision of zoning the office of the President to the North and that of National Chairmanship position to the South as anything short of this may throw the party into another round of hullabaloo, which isn’t needed at this time when the party is healing her wound.

Just, yesterday this concern was again strengthened by comments from Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Darius Ishaku who stated that “the stands of the party is clear that chairman is to the South and presidential candidate to the North and anything shot of that is a personal decision.”

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has offered his “one kobo” advice in his own wisdom, while Gov Darius Ishaku has added his voice to the need for the PDP to keep to her promise regarding the zoning of offices as a noble and honourable party, which seeks to wrestle power from the garrulous APC.

Micro-zoning should be entirely discouraged, it hinders the growth of any striving institution. We must  kill the indirect imposition now branded “micro-zoning” before we impose incompetent people that will bury our party, “God Forbid!
