Atiku Visits Edo, Says Women and Youths Will Constitute 70% of his Government

BENIN – NIGERIA’S former vice president and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at the weekend, assured the people of Edo state of his desire to ensure women and youths constitute 70% of his government.
Atiku, disclosed this at a campaign rally held at Benin city, Edo state, in continuation of his nationwide campaign across the country. The PDP presidential candidate said he decided to take this decision because 70% of Nigeria’s voting population comprises of women and youths.
In addition, Atiku said he is the bridge between the present and future generation, stating that he will create a platform were they can be prepared to take over the leadership of the nation.
“We are not deceptive like those in the APC”, he said. However after reeling out some achievements of party, he said during PDP’s reign, they brought prosperity to Nigeria and Nigerians and stated that for this to be sustained taking into consideration the abysmal performance of the APC, all PDP candidates should be voted for.
“Come February 16th, I want you all to vote and protect your votes”, Atiku reiterated.
On his part, the national chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, said Atiku Abubakar remains the most experienced, energetic and best prepared to take over from the incumbent president. He also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against rigging the general elections.
In his remarks, the chairman of Edo PDP, Chief Dr. Dan Orbih while receiving defectors numbering over 2,000 from the APC led by Comrade Shaba said with the large turnout of people who thronged out to welcome Atiku Abubakar, is a strong indication that they are ready to vote out the APC.
