The Edo state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dr. Dan Orbih has condemned in strong terms the unconstitutional and illegal removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, describing the action of President Buhari as not only dictatorial but a grievous coup against our democracy.

Orbih, disclosed this at a well attended rally held at Igueben Local Government Area to conclude LGA campaign flag-off which commenced some weeks back in Edo central senatorial district to consolidate victory for the party ahead of the February 16th and March 2nd, 2019 general elections.

Orbih said, the choice before Nigerians is between voting for President Buhari, a dictator or Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a democrat. He urged well meaning Nigerians to stand up and resist the unpleasant captivity of Buhari.
“Buhari came to Benin for a campaign rally, refusing to tell Edo people his achievements in the state. It was very despicable for the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole to come to the podium to say he destroyed and buried godfatherism in the state, to mock the death of our National Leader, Chief Anthony Anenih CFR”, Orbih said.
In addition, the former NRC Chairman,  Minister of Foreign Affairs and National leader of the PDP, Chief Tom Ikimi who hails from Igueben, decried the poor level of infrastructural development in the area. He said the election is about determining whether Nigeria should exist or not. “Succinctly speaking, there is a national outcry against the Buhari led APC government” he added.
“We have 91 political parties in Nigeria but just one is our choice, the PDP. Out of the 91 parties, 69 are working with the PDP through the CUPP arrangement, with this development after the party wins, a government of National unity will be formed to rescue our Nation from the shackles of poverty and hunger foisted on us by APC.
Continuing, Ikimi said anybody can aspire for public office but the man who claims to be contesting for Senate, I made him Commissioner, he should wait for his time because Senator Clifford Ordia remains our Senator due to his intimidating performance in office.
Subsequently, a former Minister for Works, Arc. Mike Onolememhen, said since the PDP left office, the difference between them (PDP) and APC is now vividly clear for all Nigerians to see, he noted that instead of the APC providing jobs, more than 9.2 million jobs have been lost.
Climaxing the rally, hordes of APC supporters led by Chief Amayo Joseph from Ward 8 and a GDPN chieftain, Mr. Peter Odiase defected to the PDP.
In their separate remarks, they all lamented the failure of the APC and commended Senator Ordia for the road construction at Amahor. However, they promised to work for the victory of all PDP candidates – Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President, Senator Engr. Clifford Ordia for Senate, Hon. Joe Edionwele, House of representatives and Barr. Odiana Eriata for EDHA.
