Aggrieved APC Aspirants, Members Threaten, May Ditch APC Over Primaries.
BENIN – The fallout from the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state has taken another twist politically as some aspirants that participated in the party primaries have expressed their displeasure over the way and manner the elections went.
Some of the aspirants who felt cheated said the primaries were devoid of all sense of credibility and transparency and have resulted to holding the party hostage while threatening to dump the party.
According to a close source, the vision bearer of Obanor Solidarity Movement (OSM) and front line aspirant for the House of representatives Egor/Ikpoba-Okha ticket, Engr. Victor Obanor, who unfortunately was marginalized for Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayima endorsement, the ordained incumbent house of representatives member by acclaimed owners of the party therefore disenfranchising cleared and screened party members, hence not allowing the wishes of vast majority of the people prevail.
OSM decried the way and manner the primaries went while describing the poll as kangaroo and a rape on democracy.
It was gathered that, Engr. Dr. Victor Obanor alongside Hon. Osaro Obazee and the CEO Akugbe Ventures, Comrade Tony Kabaka and other critical stakeholders of the party are considering dumping the ruling APC for demonstrating lack of capacity to imbibe internal democracy which they have consistently preached.
Meanwhile, the dissolved Amagba Community Chairman, Comrade Ebo Amagba, PA-G and others are reportedly on the queue to ditch the party owing to the fact that they were not only shortchanged but deceitfully schemed out of the process.
However, Engr. Victor Obanor, said he is not interested dragging the matter to court, but rather OSM/his supporters are insisting on challenging the overall integrity of the process in court.
In a related note, a former APC Chieftain and Chairman of War Against Indiscipline (WAI) ,Engr. Babatunde Olukoga left the APC to PDP recently with hundreds of his supporters, amidst cries of gross marginalization of his followers, usurpation, imposition.
