As part of consultation to run for the office of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, today, visited Distinguished Sen. Tunde Ogbeha at his residence in Abuja.

Senator Ogbeha was the former Military Governor of old Bendel State and Akwa Ibom State. He was also a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

During the visit, Senator Ogbeha received High Chief Dokpesi and his entourage and declared support for him to run for the amiable office of National Chairman of our great party, the PDP. He stated that the PDP needs a quality leader like High Chief Dokpesi that will enable the party reclaim power from the APC in 2019.

Sen. Ogbeha also said that the forthcoming December 9, 2017 National Convention of the PDP will either make or mar the party depending on its outcome, saying that whoever emerges as National Chairman will play a vital role of reviving the party to reclaim power.

He applauded High Chief Dokpesi for his doggedness during the 14 months leadership crisis in PDP and thanked him for all he did to ensure PDP survive during those trying times.

He reaffirmed that Chief Dokpesi was not alone on the issue of APDA, saying that all the organs of the party sanctioned the formation of APDA as an alternative party should the Supreme Court judgment goes against the mainstream PDP.

Senator Ogbeha kicked against any form of impunity and imposition of candidate during the Convention and urged all party leaders and supporters to work together to achieve success.

He concluded by saying…”Today, I am supporting you, I will use whatever I can to mobilize for you in ensuring you emerge the National Chairman of our great party, so that the party members and Nigerians can benefit from the dividends of democracy”. He then urged High Chief Dokpesi to continue in his consultation believing that he will emerge victorious come December 9, 2017.
